Who it's for

Built for UK higher education, sized for smaller institutions.

We work with institutions of any size. Right now we're focusing on smaller ones, where a central course calendar can be in place without a long implementation project.

Smaller universities

One calendar service for every course and department, run centrally.

Specialist institutions

Conservatoires, arts and specialist colleges, where teaching is varied and timetables change often.

Private higher education providers

Several sites or cohorts, one place for every student's timetable.

How it works

Publish once. It's in every student's calendar.

  1. Publish your courses

Administrators set up courses, modules and events in a simple web interface, or load them through our API. Each department can have its own administrators.

  2. Students subscribe

Students sign in with their institution's Microsoft or Google account, choose their courses and subscribe from Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook or any calendar app.

  3. Changes reach them

Move a room or cancel a session once, and the change reaches every subscribed calendar. No new PDF, no round-robin email.

Coming this academic year

New in December and in April.

Coming Winter 2026 release

Straight into Outlook calendars

Students and staff connect their Microsoft 365 account once. Sessions are written directly into their own Outlook calendar, with rooms, links and notes, and updated there when anything changes.

Coming Winter 2026 release

AI-assisted scheduling

Connect Claude or Microsoft Copilot to EdCal. Staff ask it to suggest times, check for clashes and set up events, within the access they already have.

Coming Winter 2026 release

Email change alerts

Cancel or move a session at short notice and EdCal emails everyone affected, on top of the change reaching their calendar.

Coming Spring 2027 release

Room and resource booking

Rooms, labs, sports halls and equipment in one bookable list. Staff see what's free, book it against the event, and the booking moves with the session if it moves.

Teams meetings, set up for you

Mark a lecture or seminar as online and EdCal creates its Microsoft Teams meeting automatically, so nobody has to set one up by hand.
